Long before “The Third Space” found its contemporary expression, Kathmandu Guest House had quietly evolved into one.
For many of our guests, KGH has been more than a home or a destination. A place where travelers and locals, dreamers and artists, mountaineers and writers have crossed paths, shared stories, formed friendships, while others have simply found a quiet corner beneath the trees and watched the world pass by.
No one set out to create this as a “Third Space”. It simply grew into one, naturally, quietly, shaped over generations by the people who walked through its doors, lingered in its gardens, and left a little of themselves with us.
This is not a novel concept. We are simply giving a name to something that defines and molds us. A sanctum of a space to pause, to connect, to reconnect, to belong, and sometimes, simply to be.

Art and heritage represent us as Nepali and entry to our soul. MoNA & Kathmandu Art House celebrate our cultural heritage while providing a platform for contemporary and traditional artists. Installations & Statues all around the KGH represent our heritage and hidden stories.
