Museum of Nepali Art (MoNA), a unique art museum in Kathmandu showcasing the best of traditional Nepali art, paintings, sculptures, and contemporary works. MoNA preserves Nepal’s rich cultural heritage, spanning over 2,000 years of history, from religious art to modern creations.
Situated inside the Kathmandu Guest House, MoNA makes the masterpieces of Nepali master artists accessible to all. Through art exhibitions in Nepal, the museum promotes knowledge, appreciation, and global recognition of Nepali art and culture.
Most great works of Nepali art have been denied a wider audience, being housed in private collections or as a part of limited exhibitions in Nepal and abroad. MONA breaks this barrier, presenting masterpieces to a wider and all-inclusive public.
The museum documents conserve and preserves the country’s artistic heritage. Periodically changing thematic exhibitions on Nepali art will run throughout the year to keep visitors engaged and encourage them to revisit the museum.
Visit MoNA to explore Nepal’s art collections, heritage, and exhibitions.
